Throughout the month of October, Rotaract | SLO is organized their 5th annual Coats for Kids drive to gather new and gently used coats for children in our community. Coat collection stations were set up throughout San Luis Obispo County at local businesses, schools, banks, and churches. The coats are then donated to local charities to be distributed throughout the County.
Rotaract | SLO coordinates the Coats for Kids campaign every year during the fall in preparation for the colder winter months ahead. In order to donate your coats, please visit our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/C4KSLO, or our website,RotaractSLO.org, for a complete list of drop off locations.
The Coats for Kids drive was started five years ago by Rotaract | SLO members, as they saw the need to keep families on our Central Coast warm throughout the winter months. This year, Rotaract | SLO set a goal of gathering 1,000 coats and nearly got there, with a final count of 857 .This coat drive is truly a community wide effort, as dozens of organizations jumped on board to become drop-off locations in convenient areas where any individual can take part and donate their coats.
Meathead Movers, Central Coast Printing, Paul’s Dry Cleaners, and New Times are generous sponsors of this year’s Coats for Kids.
